About MechanicNearMe
MechanicNearMe is an independent New Zealand directory of mechanics and car repair workshops, with24 guides to common repair costs. It's free to use. We are not a mechanic, we don't carry out repairs, and we're not affiliated with any business listed on the site.
How do you list mechanics?
We currently list 53 businesses. Listings are compiled from public business information:
- Name, phone, address and website — from the business's own website and public business listings.
- Opening hours and "open 24 hours" — from the business's Google Business Profile, last checked May 2026.
- Services — from the business's own description of what it does.
Listings are unclaimed: the businesses haven't supplied or approved their entries, and no business pays to appear or to be placed higher. Details can go out of date, so please confirm with the business before you rely on them.
What don't you check?
We don't inspect workshops, and we don't verify qualifications, MTA membership, WOF authorisation, insurance or warranties. A listing is not an endorsement. Before you book, ask the workshop directly about anything that matters to you, and get a written quote.
Why don't you show star ratings?
Ratings change constantly, and a copied number goes stale. Instead, each listing with a Google Business Profile links straight to its Google reviews so you can read current, first-hand feedback.
Where do the cost guide prices come from?
Prices in our cost guides are indicative New Zealand ranges at the time each guide was written. Your price will depend on your vehicle, parts and the workshop's labour rate, so treat them as a starting point and ask for a written quote.
What happens when I send a request?
When you use our request form, we review it and get back to you by phone or email. If you've agreed to it on the form, we may pass your request to a mechanic or booking service so they can contact you about it. There's no cost and no obligation to book. If it's urgent or you've broken down, call a listed mechanic or your roadside assistance provider directly. See our privacy policy for how we handle your details.
How do I correct or remove a listing?
If you own or work at a listed business and something is wrong — or you'd like your listing removed — send us a message using the form below. Include the business name and the page address. We aim to action corrections and removals promptly.
